DESIGN COMMUNICATION
PROJECT 1A: ON-SITE SKETCHING
In the first project, it is divided into two parts, project 1A and 1B. In Project 1A On-Sie Sketching, I am required to select four sites from the surrounding area of Taylor's University Lakeside Campus. The four sites must be two interior and two exterior parts of the campus. After selecting the four sites, I would have to chose a perspective view for each site and sketch a drawing of the view on the site. Therefore, there are a total of four sketches of drawing that I have to sketch. In each of the sketch drawings, after drawing the layouts and details of the selected view, I would have to do the shadings for my sketch drawing in order to show the tonal value or the light and shadow of the view. After completing the drawings, I have to compile them in an A2 size mounting board.
PROJECT 1B: TONAL VALUES
In Project 1B Tonal Values, I am required to sketch four drawings of a given picture which is the picture of Barcelona Pavilion, built by Mies van der Rohe. In each four drawings, I have to use a different skecthing technique for each drawing. The drawing techniques that I have used are hatching, cross-hatching, scribbling and stippling. After completing the four drawings, I would have to compile them into an A2 size mounting board.
PROJECT 2A: ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTIONS
In the second project, Project 2A Orthographic Projections, I am required to draw a floor plan, four elevations of front, back, left and right and two sections of Barcelona Pavilion. First of all, I drew these orthographic drawings on two A1 size butter papers with 2B pencil as a draft for my final drawings. As for my final orthographic drawings, I just have to trace the butter paper drafts onto two A1 size tracing paper using defferent points of technical pens.
PROJECT 2C: PERSPECTIVES
In this project, my tutorial group was divided by my tutor according into two small group which consists of seven people in each small group. In my group, we decided to choose a member from our group named Kimberly to be our user for the pavillion. In order for us to design the pavillion, we first measured her and she has to describe her own personality and characteristics to us in order for us to design a pavillion that suits her personality and dimensions. In the process of designing the pavillion, two of my group members came out with a mock up model both for the interim sessions. My group leader had divided the workload by deciding five members to built the pavillion structure and two members to work on the presentation boards.
REFLECTION:
In this module Design Communication, I learned the techniques of drawing orthographics, axonometric and perspectives drawings. I also learned that there are different line weights for each different kinds of building materials such as marble walls, glass, floor tiles and more. Besides that, I also learned that different heights and distances of an object have different line weights. The further the height or distance, the lighter the line weight while the nearer the height or distance, the darker the line weight. The techniques of producing orthographics, axonometric and perspectives drawings are very useful for my further semesters as they had helped to imagine an object in different point of views and in three dimensional.

PROJECT 2B: AXONOMETRIC PROJECTIONS
In the third project, Project 2B Axonometric Projection, I am required to draw an axonometric drawing of Barcelona Pavilion. With the use of an adjustable set square, I used the angles of 60 and 30 degrees to draw the axonometric drawing by extruding the floor plan of Barcelona Pavilion. In order to complete the final drawing, I first drew the axonometric drawing on an A1 size butter paper with 2B pencil, then traced the butter paper onto an A1 size tracing paper using technical pens.
